WHAT
IS A FIDDLE CONTEST?
Fiddlers
gather to compete against other fiddlers in their age group.
Most fiddlers use it as a reason to practice so they get better! It
is truly fascinating to watch the fiddlers take the stage.
Typically they begin their contest preparation in January and
learn several tunes then choose the tunes that sound the best and
that they enjoy playing the most.
Some of
the top national fiddlers, as well as many state and regional
champions, will be competing. Participants are judged, and earn
awards based on their performance.
